I don't know much about computers. Will this work for me?
Absolutely. Our online Spanish classes are simple and hassle-free. All you need is a computer or tablet, a good internet connection, and Zoom in order to attend your online classes.
Are the teachers native speakers? How do you choose your teachers?
Yes, all of our teachers are native Spanish speakers. In addition, they're very experienced in teaching Spanish as a second language in a small class setting. Some teachers are better at working with younger students while others might do better with the more mature audience.
How do I communicate at first with my teacher if I don't speak any Spanish?
You’re in good hands, as all of our teachers speak English and have years of experience teaching Spanish to non-native speakers of all levels.
What is your teaching methodology?
We believe in teaching Spanish through constant contact. Both inside the classroom and out, students are engaged in the language. We believe in a dynamic environment that challenges our students and keeps them continuously motivated to learn Spanish.
How can I determine my class schedule? What times are my classes?
We will work with you to determine a class schedule that fits your needs. Classes can be scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, Monday through Friday, and 7:00 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
How many lessons per week do you recommend?
We recommend starting with a minimum of two lessons per week. However, students who take three or more lessons per week tend to make much greater progress.
What else is available to me in addition to my regular online classes?
In addition to the one-on-one online Spanish classes you'll be taking, you will also have access to written grammar lessons, short videos, exercises, and live weekly workshops.
What are the weekly workshops all about, and how much do they cost?
Many of our students have expressed that they lack the opportunities to use their Spanish on a regular basis in their daily routines. The workshops were originally conceived to address this and are provided at no additional cost. We offer between 10 and 20 workshops per week, which allows us to provide our student community a few more chances to use their Spanish in a slightly different context. The workshops are offered in a few different formats, but all with the objective of providing our Spanish students more opportunities to use the language and connect with other Spanish speakers.
Can I get college credit for online Spanish?
Yes—you can earn college credit for your online Spanish program with Conversa. Learn more about it here.
What is the cancellation policy?
Conversa is flexible and will work with you to cancel or reschedule any classes you will not be able to attend. As long as classes are canceled more than five days ahead of time, you will not be charged. If a class is canceled less than 5 days ahead we will help you reschedule the lesson for a different day and/or time that fits both your and your instructors schedule. Any classes that are unattended without notice or unable to be rescheduled due to time constraints will be billed at full price.
