Spanish For Retirees - Feb. 27, 2001
By Frank MacMurray
Learning Spanish in Costa Rica
By Jonsey Jones
For several years now Conversa has offered Spanish lessons for retirees (and soon-to-be retirees). Seniors study in our Intensive Spanish Program. They may choose to stay on-campus or with a Costa Rican host family in Santa Ana, paying the corresponding price, but here's the deal... we will include a series of optional afternoon and evening educational, cultural, recreational and gastronomical activities for our students. Some of these activities will take place on our campus and will involve no additional cost to the participants. Others will involve short junkets to tourist attractions and restaurants, and each participant must pay for his or her entrance fees and/or meals (transportation will be provided by Conversa). Weekend activities will be arranged by Conversa but participants pay the tour operators/hotels directly. While prices for weekend activities will vary, students can expect to pay around $150 for the trip, including transportation and lodging.
This program is available for two-week, three-week and four-week periods. It will be offered from January 4th through March 12th, 2010 (during this time frame, all students at Conversa's Santa Ana campus can benefit from this service, not only retirees).
